Fall Finale Tournament Teams Preview (Teams 25-28 in no particular order)
25. HAYES TAVERN – Captain: Marlon Tauriac
Hometown: Lawrence, MA
Marlon and his team have played in this tournament many times before and they have a lot of success in pool play, is this the year where they can power through and advance on? They were a late addition to the tournament and just couldn’t resist the itch to get in those final swings outdoors in the season.
26. MASS INSURANCE – Captain: Matt Ells
Hometown: Chelsea, MA
Most of this squad hails from north of Boston, specifically the Somerville, Wakefield, and Peabody area. Back again for a 2nd straight year this group of guys had a great time last year. If memory serves correct they were in a tough pool at Condon Field last year. Another late addition to the tourney, they’re looking to turn some heads on Saturday.
27. HURRICANES – Captain: Keith Martin
Hometown: Haverhill, MA
Keith and his group of mashers join us again in 2017 with only one goal in mind, a championship trophy. These guys are good, and they’re good in every aspect of the game. You’ll be hard pressed to find the weak link in the lineup with this squad. Coming into this thing as one the sure favorites they will have to keep the pedal to the metal considering how stacked the field is this year.
28. BACKDOOR SLIDERS – Captain: Matt LoSciuto
Hometown: Quincy, MA
We recently saw the core of this team compete in the Pumpkin Ball Bash this year. They held their own and ended up advancing in the Silver bracket. They’re out for bigger and better things now, they want Gold. They come in as the official last entry of the tournament as team #28 and they wouldn’t have entered if they didn’t think they have a legit shot at this thing. Only time will tell once first pitch is tossed up on Saturday!
