About our Boston Basketball Leagues

These leagues are for people of all abilities, and you can join them as an individual player, or in a group with your mates. We’ll even help you find an existing team to join, then all you have to do is sign up and play!

There’s no off-season at The HUB, so our leagues run throughout the year. Each season lasts around 6-8 games per team, plus some play-offs as well. We also have a few tournaments that run alongside the leagues, so you can get even more of a basketball fix! You’ll typically have one o two games a week, it depends on the league you’re in.

Every team in the league gets gifted with numbered team shirts, a duffel bag for all the kit, and basketballs for each match. We update the league standings every day, so you can always see how your team is doing! If you want, you can join the league as a new team and get all of your mates together to play regularly.

We’re super committed to providing the people of Boston with as many amazing basketball leagues as possible. We’ve worked really hard to try and find lots of different locations, so there’s bound to be a Boston basketball league near you.

As of right now, we have leagues in Brighton, Cambridge and Southie, and a few other metropolitan areas of Boston. It’s really easy to find a league near you, just use the tool on our website to search via location, and the closest ones will show up.

We set up our leagues in local schools and colleges, as well as community centers. This ensures that the facilities are excellent, so you can enjoy playing ball. There will also be outdoor and indoor locations for you to choose from as well. They’re perfect for basketball in the summer and winter!

Divisions: Co-ed, Men’s, Women’s

Basketball is an inclusive sport, so we cater to everyone. Our leagues come with lots of divisions that you can choose to play in. This includes both men’s and women’s divisions. Here, you will play against people of the same gender and compete to top the league and win the play-offs. These leagues are typically the most competitive, but you can still find some relaxed ones that offer more fun than serious ball playing.

Additionally, we’re one of the few places that offer co-ed basketball leagues in Boston. Get together with all your friends – men and women – and just enjoy the sport. We find that the co-ed leagues are the most laid back as people play just for fun and to keep fit.

For reference, we have three different tiers for our Boston basketball leagues. The recreational leagues are designed for beginners and people that just want to stay active. The intermediate ones are for slightly more experienced players looking for a challenge, and the competitive leagues are for serious players that want to compete against the best players in the area!

All our leagues are for adults, so you have to be 18 or over to register.

Basketball Tournaments

Fancy taking home a trophy? Well, we run lots of excellent basketball tournaments throughout the year. Every season has its own tournament, so there’s an opportunity for you to pick up a prize even if you don’t win the league itself. Our players have said there’s something special about the tournaments as they create a different atmosphere. We don’t just give prizes to the winners, the runners up and third-placed teams also pick up something special.

Alongside this, we try to run additional special tournaments as well. These are more sporadic than the season tournaments, and you’ll have to pay extra to join them. But, we give out some free gifts and incentives to all the teams that register. It’s always worth checking our site and heading to the tournaments section to see when any new events are planned!

Indoor & Outdoor Basketball Leagues

There are indoor and outdoor basketball leagues available for you to take part in. We don’t see the point in shutting down our leagues for a couple of months every year. At the end of the day, our players aren’t professional players! You take part because you love basketball, so why restrict yourself to only playing during the typical NBA season? Our indoor basketball leagues let you carry on playing when the weather gets really bad. You can shoot some hoops in one of the many excellent indoor facilities we have all throughout Boston.

Then, when it’s nice and sunny, you can’t beat some outdoor basketball! Again, we have plenty of outdoor basketball leagues that you can sign up to.

Corporate Basketball

The HUB has some corporate basketball leagues for teams to join as well. These leagues are aimed at businesses who feel like getting a team together from their staff. If you work with a lot of basketball-mad people, then joining a league is a brilliant idea. The corporate leagues put you against other corporate teams, so you may bump into a few people that you saw at a recent networking event!

Basketball is brilliant for team-building as well, so it’s well worth considering if you’re looking to improve employee morale in your office.

Intramural / Extramural Basketball Leagues

We offer the city equivalent of college intramural/extramural basketball. In essence, you can join an intramural league that only includes teams from within a specific area. This keeps everything very local, and you will probably play against people you know. The extramural basketball leagues are composed of teams from other areas within Boston. These tend to be more competitive as there’s a bit of a rivalry between teams from different places! If you like this kind of thing, then these leagues are perfect for you.
