• I just signed up for a pickleball league, now what?

You’ve confirmed your spot in a Pickleball Social Club league at Harpoon Brewery! You will be receiving an email 3-5 days prior to the start date of your league with a week 1 schedule.

  • I signed up as an individual player, now what?

You’ve successfully signed up as an individual or small group! Our team will now work to put you on a team with other individuals to form a full team for the season. Indy or small group pickleball teams will usually be comprised of a minimum of 3 players and maximum of 4 players. This ensures that if any scheduling conflicts permit, you’re team will always have enough players!

  • I signed up as a full team, now what?

You have successfully registered as a full team meaning you have complete control of your roster! You can add anywhere from 2-6 players to your team. Please only sign up as a full team if you already have 1-5 other participants to play with.

  • When will I get my schedule?

Players can expect to receive their week 1 schedule 3-5 days before the start of their league. You will receive the full season schedule 3-5 days before your week 2 game night. With some teams joining last minute during week 1, this distribution of schedules ensures the least amount of schedule changes before the league begins.

  • What equipment do I need to bring?

HUB Sports Boston provides court time, nets, and pickleballs for all game play. All individuals and full teams are required to provide their own paddles. We have paddle rentals on site for $10. Please note that we cannot guarantee available inventory.

  • How long does my league match last?

You can expect to play 4 matches, best to 11 each night. These games will last approximately 15 min each.

  • How long does the season last?

Most pickleball leagues at the PBSC play 4 regular weeks per season + 1 week of playoffs. All teams will advance to playoff week (week 5). *Please note that our Instructional Pickleball league runs on a unique 4 week schedule.

  • I may need to forfeit. Now what?

Unfortunately forfeits happen. If you are unable to find replacements for your absence, please call our main line at 617-863-8300 or email forfeits@hubsportsboston.com by 2PM for week day matches and Fridays by 5PM for weekend matches. Forfeits will not be rescheduled, the team that forfeits will receive a forfeit loss on the night and the team that was forfeited on will pick up the win.

  • Are we allowed to use substitute players?

We encourage teams to pick up substitute players rather than forfeit the night. Please make your best effort to find a sub utilizing our HUB SUBS Facebook Page.  We also welcome teams to bring a long a friend to replace their teammate for the night.

  • How do I know if there is a weather cancelation?

Unfortunately, Mother Nature sometimes interferes with our regular game schedule. Our team does its best to monitor conditions and make a final decision on outdoor court playability by 4 PM on match days. If a game is canceled due to weather, we’ll notify impacted leagues via email.

As many of you know, New England weather can be unpredictable. While we strive to make the most accurate call, there may be instances where unexpected weather rolls in. The good news? Our HUB PBSC team is equipped with the best tools to make courts playable quickly after light rain or will notify teams if the courts become unplayable.

Please do not assume your game is canceled unless you receive an official cancellation email.

    Rainout Policy:
Due to the limited outdoor season, our team can only accommodate one rescheduled game per season for weather-related cancellations. Any additional rainouts will be credited to players in the form of HUB credit.

  • What’s my skill level?

We love supporting players of all skill levels at the Pickleball Social Club! We rely on players to choose their skill-level using our league and event descriptions regarding level of play.

    PBSC SKILL DIVISIONS

    Instructional League
The perfect fit for someone brand new to pickleball! You may have never even picked up a paddle before. We provide you with a professional pickleball instructor to explain game play and give you the tools to get comfortable on the pickleball court! We encourage individuals to sign up for our instructional and/or clinics and work their way into one of our Rec Leagues in the future!

    Rec League
Beginner/Recreational – You may have dinked around at the park here and there, maybe even played a game or two. You’re certainly not smashing the ball over the net and sustaining long volleys. Maybe you have an athletic background but the sport of pickleball is new to you! This is the true novice level. If you played in a few leagues before and have 20+ matches under your belt, the Juicer League might be a better fit for you! DUPR: 1.0-3.0

    Juicer League
Looking for a competitive league with more advanced players? Juicer is the ideal skill level for you! Players in Juicer Leagues are expected to have advanced knowledge of the sport and many matches under their belt. This league may include more competitive elements to play such as smashing and sustaining long volleys. DUPR: 3-4.5

  • I think I signed up for the wrong skill level?

Oops! If you find out before the season starts that you may have chosen the wrong skill division, our team can try to move you into the correct skill division. Unfortunately if you realize this after your season begins, there is little our office can do to remedy the situation. At this point, teams have been fully built into the league’s schedule.
